Practical tips for JavaLand 2019

As we intend to make your stay as pleasant as possible, we have compiled some practical information for you.

We are looking forward to seeing you!

Check-in

If you don't have a ticket yet, you have to register at the “Berlin” entrance. There, you can pick up your already ordered tickets and also buy new ones.

If you are already arriving on Monday, we recommend that you use our evening-before-check-in between 5 pm and 8 pm.

On Tuesday, you can register between 7:30 am and 6:30 pm, on Wednesday from 8 am to 1 pm. If you are already arriving with a ticket (badge), you can enter the park via our scan stations at the ”Ling Bao” entrance.

Drink vouchers

You will receive three vouchers per day which you can redeem for coffee specialties and soft drinks. You can pick up your vouchers all the time at the info point and on the upper floor of Quantum. On Tuesday, vouchers can also be picked up at STOCK’s until 12 pm. Insider’s tip: The members of the Java community will welcome you to the JUG Café and invite you to a drink or ice cream during a nice chat.

Water, regular coffee, and tea are available without vouchers. Coffee2Go cups are available at Quantum, Café HiLow and JUG Café. At Quantum ground floor, in front of the Schauspielhaus and in the cafés we have set up drink stations for you. You'll also find self-service water bottles in front of Quantum.

Bookmark sessions

We would like to recommend our conference planner, the DukeCon app. It kills two birds with one stone: By clicking on the star you can bookmark lectures and community activities you want to visit. You'll be well prepared for the conference and at the same time help us to optimize our capacity planning. During JavaLand you can use the conference planner to find out about occupancy and any last-minute program changes. This way you will know in advance which sessions are fully booked. The app also works offline.

Restaurants

Experience shows that restaurants are the most frequented between sessions. Therefore, we recommend a restaurant visit outside the breaks - provided you can do without a session.

Live stream

All lectures held at the Silverado Theater can be followed online in a live stream. The keynotes will also be broadcasted at Wintergarten.

Current information

To stay up to date during the event, just follow our Twitter account @JavaLandConf and the hashtag #JavaLand. On both days you can also get our Conference News as a free print edition at both entrances and at the info point.

Parking spaces

You can use three free parking spaces: “Berlin”, “Matamba”, and “Mystery”. For guests of Hotel Ling Bao there is also the parking space “Ling Bao” right next to the hotel. In order to use the parking spaces “Matamba” and “Ling Bao“ you have to draw a ticket at the Infopoint or at the reception desk of the respective hotels before leaving the parking lot.

Bus shuttle service

There is a bus shuttle from Brühl Main Station and Cologne/Bonn Airport. Our buses also make a stop at the Hotels H+ Köln Brühl and Hürth as well as the Maritim Hotels Cologne and Bonn. The shuttle will drop you off at the main entrance of JavaLand. Find out now about the travel times of our shuttle buses here.

Guide and Map of the Park

You will find all the important information (and more!) collected in our guide and the map of the park. With these two precious helpers, you definitely won't run out of inspiration for your stay in Phantasialand!
