Communities

Business Solutions

The business solutions community pools user activities around Oracle business applications such as Fusion Applications Cloud, Primavera, E-Business Suite, JD Edwards, Siebel and Hyperion.

Database

The database community has a focus on all aspects of the Oracle database, from installation to configuration to tuning. Furthermore, this community considers other Oracle database products such as MySQL.

Java

In close cooperation with the Interessenverbund der Java User Groups e.V. (iJUG), the Java community connects iJUG members and regional groups of the DOAG. Work with young people is also an integral part of this community's range of tasks.

Development

The development community is a platform for software development with the aid of Oracle tools such as APEX, ADF, and PL/SQL. The community serves as an exchange platform for process-related subjects such as business process management (BPM) and service-oriented architecture (SOA).

AI

The AI Community of DOAG is dedicated to the promotion and development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Germany. The focus is on key areas such as the impact of AI on society, technology and jobs, as well as topics such as AI in medicine, the environment, art and education.

Data Analytics

The data analytics community addresses all relevant subjects around business intelligence (BI), data warehousing (DWH), data integration, BI reports, advanced analytics, big data, and BI specialist applications.

Infrastructure and Middleware

From engineered systems to application infrastructures to the cloud, this community addresses a wide range of subjects. Transdisciplinary matters such as monitoring and high availability are also taken into account.

Regional groups

Structure and Bodies

A general meeting of members can be convened for a compelling reason by the meeting of delegates or on demand of 5% of the members entitled to vote. Furthermore, interests of the members are exercised by the meeting of delegates. The board is obligated by the statute to report to the members. For this purpose, an annual report is sent yearly to all members.

History of the General Meeting of Members
Until the decision of the new version of the statute by the general meeting of members 2012, the meeting was held yearly. The minutes of the general meeting of members are available in the online archive.

The meeting of delegates represents the members of the DOAG and their interests.

It consists of delegates from the members and communities, and from regional representatives, elected for a period of three years.

The meeting of delegates is held regularly once a year. Additionally, extraordinary meetings of delegates may be convened. Agenda and results of the meeting of delegates are reported to all members.

The meeting of delegates is responsible for the following:

  • Definition of the strategic direction and objectives of the association activity
  • Election of the board
  • Establishment of communities
  • Receipt of the annual activity and finance report of the board
  • Receipt of the report of the cash auditor
  • Discharge of the board
  • Decision on the budget pan
  • Decision on changes to the statute
  • Decision on the election rules
  • Decision on the membership fee regulation
  • Decision on organization of the communities and regional groups Decision on further organizations
  • Decision on honorary memberships

The board manages the association operatively and is responsible for all matters of the association, provided no other organs are assigned with these matters. It also ensures that all relevant subjects are covered in the DOAG and assigned to the communities.

The board consists of the chairperson, the vice chairperson with the range of tasks finance, the vice chairperson with the range of tasks cross-disciplinary groups, the leaders of the communities, and the board with the range of tasks office/operational tasks.

The association is supported by a large number of active members who have taken responsibility in one or several segments such as communities, competence centers, or regional groups. These members support the board in leading the association.
