Oracle Database 12c has been quite a coup for Oracle. But the company won't leave it at that: Now the database specialist wants to tackle the in-memory issue. Andrew Mendelsohn is senior vice president at Oracle and in charge of the Oracle Database Server Technologies. In an interview with Christian Trieb, Head of the Database Community at DOAG, he talks about the role that the database Oracle Times Ten plays for this project. Incidentally, in-memory features should be made available with the next release. Oracle President Marc Hurd informed about it during an investor webcast in June 2013. The new version could be announced at the upcoming Oracle OpenWorld in September in San Francisco.
