Henning, you will be at this year's JavaLand with the session “Cleaning up the Mess - Modularize and Modernize Legacy Software”. What can participants expect?
Most software developers don't work on greenfield sites but are involved in brownfield projects. In my talk, I will show how such legacy software can be modularized and modernized.
What developments or trends are you currently following in the Java world?
Of course, the megatrend in the Java world is the use of AI. In addition to the great help it gives us developers, I am particularly interested in where and how we can incorporate it into our applications so that it is also a great help to our users.
From where are you traveling to JavaLand? How long will your journey take?
I'm coming to JavaLand from Hamburg and will be traveling for about six or seven hours.
Do you have any reading tips for the journey to JavaLand?
Together with Carola Lilienthal, I have written a book on the topic of my talk that is well suited as travel reading. It's called “Domain-Driven Transformation”. If you would like to understand your users, I recommend my other book “Domain Storytelling”. Both books are published by dpunkt.
What are you most looking forward to at this JavaLand?
Like every year, I'm especially looking forward to (re)meeting the Java community!
