During the Collaborate 16, Jeb Dasteel, Chief Customer Officer Oracle Corporation, invited Stefan Kinnen as representative of DOAG to a Executive Roundtable. Reason is the announcement of the program “Oracle Accelerated Buying Experience” that completely rebuilds and simplifies the whole entire purchasing process and basic contracts.
Oracle has realized that their contract work is too complicated and out of date in the age of cloud computing. The scope of the contracts partly leads to multiple iterative interactions with the customers, which delayed the actual statements by several weeks or months. This is no longer acceptable, mentioned also the CEO Board and is ready for surprisingly significant changes. „If other cloud providers summarize their contract work in a few pages and validate it worldwide and simple, Oracle might do it as well“, summarizes Jeb Dasteel the motivation and mentioned that he has rarely experienced such deep changes during his long Oracle career. Up to a „1-click service“ for buyings up to about 100.000$ everything will become easier.
“DOAG welcomes these changes by Oracle, especially regarding the frequently discussed issues in relation to European or national adaptions in the past”, says Stefan Kinnen. “Individual agreements are good and important – a simpler contract base in conjunction with accelerated processes in the financial statements will lead to more transparency and less blockages. We are looking forward and are excited about the results that can be expected in the period June/July.”
