What are you speaking about at JavaLand and why did you choose this particular topic for your presentation? Why are you passionate about this?
Jonathan: I will talk about Infrastructure as Code, fundamentals, Gitops, and why it's important to put a lot of focus on security to avoid big problems. I see a lot of people considering code quality applicable to application code but not putting the same effort on the deployment process.
What will attendees of your lecture be able to take away/learn?
Jonathan: How to do repeatable and unattended deployments while keeping a high standard on quality. I will show some common issues and how to solve them.
What developments or trends are you currently following in the Java world?
Jonathan: Mainly AI development using Agents and MPC. Java also provides good libraries to help the development like LangChain4J, Jlama and always using Quarkus.
Where do you live and how are you traveling to JavaLand? How long will your trip take?
Jonathan: I'm based in Barcelona, Spain, and I will fly to Cologne and then take the JavaLand Express to the conference... It should take around 5 hours.
How do you pass the time on the journey? Do you have any book or podcast recommendations?
Jonathan: Usually, I read books and listen to old music, and why not, I work on my slides :). Currently I'm reading The Black Swan, very interesting about predictability.
What are you most looking forward to at this JavaLand and what value do you hope to gain from the event?
Jonathan: It's been on my radar for long time and this year I was so lucky to be accepted. I will meet a vibrant community, and several friends among speakers. I hope to have interesting discussions and to light a spark of curiosity on my attendees.
